Recess
Children enjoy playtime on the playground daily except for cases of inclement weather. This time is needed for the children to enjoy the fresh air and each other’s company in a non-classroom setting. To ensure that the playground is an enjoyable time for the children as well as the supervisors we ask that children know and follow the playground expectations. Visitors are not allowed to go out with the class during recess.
The decision whether to play outdoors will be made by school staff, considering these factors:
- Temperature (below 0 degrees F)
- Wind chill (below 0 degrees F)
- Precipitation
- Student tolerance for the elements, “cabin fever.”
Students should always come appropriately dressed for outdoor play.
